A kid-safe introduction to real grappling — control, confidence, and composure, taught one class at a time in the same Woodbury facility as Excel Martial Arts.
Kids Jiu-Jitsu isn't about throwing kids onto the mat and letting them wrestle. Every class builds toward real technique — the same drill-first approach we use with adults, scaled for kids.
Invictus trains on its own dedicated floor, cushioned with a full 2 inches of matting — built specifically for safe rolling, kids included.
The instructors do a great job teaching the kids real martial arts skills while making sure the lessons stay age-appropriate. My kids have learned self-defense, confidence, setting boundaries, and respecting others — lessons that carry over into everyday life. Most importantly, they genuinely look forward to going.
There's a great mix of ages, sizes, and experience levels in the classes, but the instructors handle it really well — they know how to pair and coach the kids appropriately and keep everyone progressing safely. As a parent, I really appreciate how often safety is reinforced; it gives me a lot of confidence knowing control and respect for training partners are always emphasized.
It's a bright, inviting and spacious environment. Well-maintained locker rooms and showers are great for mid-day "work escapes." Instructors are eager to help you learn — they "meet you where you are." In sum, this is a great school for kids of all ages, and their parents!
Your child's first class is free — no contract, no pressure. Just a real class, on a real mat, taught the right way.
Our Guarantee: attend twice a week for four weeks. If you don't see it in your child — more focus, more confidence, more calm under pressure — we'll refund your first month. No questions asked.
We start kids Jiu-Jitsu at age 6. Classes are grouped by age and experience so your child is always training alongside kids at a similar stage.
